About the apprenticeship

Duties

The Role
The purpose of the role is to assist in the allocation and movement of resources within the factory, whether that is materials, products or people which includes temporary labour. You will gain hands on experience through a combination of on-the-job training in addition to gaining a level 2 Business Administration qualification through the apprenticeship framework. There is also an opportunity to progress to level 3 or to move on to an alternative framework such as Business Improvement Techniques. Terms of Employment
A full time apprenticeship contract is offered
Hours of work are 37.5 per week
Working hours are Monday to Friday from 8am - 4pm with half hour unpaid lunch
Hourly rate of pay is in line with National Minimum wage rates for your age (not the reduced apprenticeship rate of pay) and this will increase in April 21 in line with government guidelines for National Minimum Wage and National Living Wage rates.

Education and Future Opportunities
We will support you through a Level 2 Business Administration qualification with the backing of Coleg Cambria. The qualification is expected to take approx. 1 year to18months to complete. On attainment of this qualification we will also given the opportunity to progress your study to either Level 3 Business Administration or move on to another framework such as Business Improvement Techniques

Should you be successful within the Apprenticeship role and show the aptitude and desire to succeed you will be rewarded with a permanent contract and improved pay rate and benefits package. We will also set up a training and development plan for you within the role.

Strong IT skills are required in all MS packages, particularly Word , Excel and Powerpoint.
Excellent communication skills are essential as you will deal with lots of people in various departments
The ability to problem solve with a good attention to detail is also required

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
