SD Structures are a dynamic London based Civil and Structural design practice focused on quality architectural and structurally challenging projects, big and small. We have recently expanded our business to undertake Civil Engineering design in tandem with the Structural team, and we are now looking for bright enthusiastic people to join our growing Civil team.

We are offering the opportunity to develop a career in Civil Engineering, learning the technical and practical aspects of the profession. Civil engineers are creative, trustworthy problem solvers who shape all aspects of our built environment, developing innovative solutions to allow construction in the most challenging environments.

SD Structures utilise the latest technology to design and model smart and efficient developments. As an engineer, you will be a key part of the design and construction team, working alongside leading architects and other consultants on a multitude of projects - from houses, to offices, sports facilities and multi-storey developments.

During the training programme, you will learn to produce construction drawings, reports, and undertake simple design calculations. The role is office based (combined with some working from home flexibility) but you will visit construction sites from time to time to see your designs and drawings being built.

Key elements of the role include:
  • Production of 2D and 3D drawings
  • Preparation of calculations of design elements
  • Supporting the administration of projects
  • Ensuring outputs meet the required standards
  • Meeting agreed deadlines
  • Maintaining drawing register
  • Working as a member of a team
  • Contributing to providing solutions to problems

Working both in an office environment and on site.
