De La Rue are a company at the forefront of product authentication solutions and secure currency design. They work with governments, central banks, and commercial organisations around the globe.

Due to a period of growth, De La Rue are looking to expand their team, and are recruiting for 3 new Software Development Apprentices. De La Rue are a supportive, forward-thinking organisation, offering an apprenticeship programme with excellent employee benefits and progression opportunities within their software team.

Role and Responsibilities:

You will be an important part of a large software development and delivery team, working with experienced DevOps specialists to develop code, test software, and debug programmes. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Using programming languages to develop code
  • Debugging code
  • Assisting senior developers in testing software
  • Writing code for databases
  • Documenting the software development process
  • Learning to design a solution interface
  • Working on projects alongside DevOps Engineers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, Delivery Leads and User Experience Designers.

Desired Qualities, Skills and Knowledge:
  • Passion for Software Development
  • Strong interest in coding, with an understanding of any coding language (beneficial)
  • Willingness to learn, develop and improve
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • A minimum of Grade 4 in Maths and English Language (or equivalent) is required for this role

Salary, Hours and Benefits:
  • Full-time hours (the majority of our candidates work 37.5 hours, Monday - Friday)
  • £16,000 - £18,000 per annum depending on experience
