With a turnover of close to £600m, the Trust provides comprehensive secondary care and specialist services to a local population of 675,000 people across South East Hampshire. Some tertiary services are provided to a wider catchment in excess of two million people. The Trust employs over 7,300 staff and is the largest employer in Portsmouth.

The Dream Big programme offers an exciting opportunity for you to study whilst you earn, to become part of our future nursing team by joining our next cohort of Registered Nurse Degree Apprentices.

As a nursing apprentice you will work as a valued member of the team as a healthcare support worker, combining your practical and theoretical knowledge through our blended learning degree level programme,

You will receive an abundance of support starting with our tailored pre course programme, which includes essential study skills and underpinning theory, prior to commencing with the university. Furthermore, our university partner and dedicated education team will support you, to gain the most out of your academic and professional journey.

Whilst you will be allocated to one of our clinical areas, you will gain vital experience from a wide variety of clinical placements throughout your training.

  • In order to progress your application, it is essential that you have:
    • GCSE in English and Maths at level C/4 or above (or equivalent e.g. Functional Skills L2)
    • 3 A Level's at Grade C or above or equivalent, or level 3 study recognised to be sufficient for entry (this may include a full level 3 Apprenticeship or Access to Higher Education).
    • The right to work in the UK.
    • Have an eligible residency status for apprenticeship funding.

      Please clearly state ALL qualifications including maths and English.

      To apply for a Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship, you will need to be aged 18 or over at the start of the programme in September 2021.

      You will be required to work evenings and weekends, please consider this before submitting your application.

      It is essential that you have gained the English and maths qualification at time of application (these are mandatory). If your English and maths qualification and grades are not clearly stated on the form, we cannot process your application further.

      Applicants waiting for A Level, Level 3 or Higher Level qualification results for the summer of 2021 are advised to indicate predicted final grades.

      Interview date: Interviews will be held via MS Teams between 7th June and te 2nd July.
