We are currently recruiting for an Assistant QS/Graduate to work with an experienced commercial team in Wolverhampton.

Due to planned growth for the foreseeable future, we have an opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Graduate, or someone who is looking for a career in the construction industry and wants to progress to be a qualified Quantity Surveyor.

This is an ideal role for someone who is looking to broaden their experience and offers an excellent opportunity for progression.

Key Responsibilities:

Handling, control and billing of work record sheets.
Prepare billing for day work elements.
Responding to customer queries.
Preparing applications for payment and submission (with supporting documents) to the client as per contract timetable.
Identifying, pricing and agreeing change.
Measurement calculations from both drawings and on site required.
Preparation of detailed final accounts.
Constant contract review and report.
Production of mid and end of month reports.
Produce bills of quantity.

Essential Skills

The ideal candidate will have a basic grounding in the industry, and a Quantity Surveyor qualification (or working towards one) along with the desire to progress their career within a construction or commercial environment.
Strong Ethical values.
Highly organised and motivated with a strong attention to detail.
Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to deal professionally with people at all levels.
A customer focused approach to all tasks undertaken.
Ability to prioritise workload to ensure delivery is achieved within timescales set.
Computer literate, and ability to learn new software packages quickly.
Plenty of initiative and an innovative approach to problem solving.
Confidence to take ownership of new ideas.
