The Isle of Wight NHS Trust is excited to be able to offer the opportunity for caring, compassionate and highly motivated individuals to undertake a Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship (Mental Health) in collaboration with the Open University.

There will be a number of Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeships available across our Trust commencing in October 2021.

The duration of the course is 3 years and is a balance of theory and practice delivered through a combination of practice-based learning and distance learning.

You will be employed as a Registered Nurse Degree Apprentice (MH) for 37.5 hours per week and have a home base within a designated clinical area. You will be undertaking a variety of clinical placements and theoretical modules that meet the requirements of the Apprenticeship programme.

On completion of the apprenticeship you will achieve a BSc (Hons) Mental Health Nursing. You will be entitled to register with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a Registered Nurse (MH), which is the professional body that monitors and regulates the nursing profession in the UK. You must uphold the NMC Code (2015) and meet the NMC requirements for continuing registration.

This will then lead to a guaranteed post as a Registered Nurse (MH) in the Trust where you will use your expertise to deliver high quality holistic and person-centred care to individuals, their families and/or carers.
