Oustanding Career

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic individual who is interested in a career as a diagnostic radiographer to train via an Apprenticeship.

We are looking for a highly motivated person to join our team at Dorset County Hospital as an apprentice radiographer. This is a recently established role which will involve you working alongside a multidisciplinary team whilst you train to become a radiographer.

The successful candidate will be enrolled on the University of Exeter Apprenticeship Radiographer Degree Programme, due to commence in September 2021. This is an exciting training opportunity to become a full HCPC registered Diagnostic radiographer (subject to course completion and HCPC registration).

The successful candidate will be expected to complete work-based, online and self-directed learning as outlined in the university prospectus. Attendance at Exeter University will also be part of the training. Apprenticeship radiographers will be supported in department by our workplace mentors and the whole radiography team.

Candidates must have the prerequisite qualifications as documented in the personal specification and by the University of Exeter.

We pride ourselves on a supportive environment for all diagnostic imaging staff with a cohesive, friendly, and forward-looking department. We are constantly striving to improve the service we offer our patients and the department has recently attained QSI accreditation.

Our busy, modern hospital provides a full range of district general services and links with satellite units in five community hospitals. We are a designated trauma unit and part of the Wessex Trauma network. Dorset County Hospital is the provider of renal services to the region. The hospital consistently receives the CHKS Top Hospital Awards and is nationally recognised for research and audit activity.

Dorset is a delightful place to live and work with the choice of coast or country for leisure activities. Dorset County Hospital is in the county town of Dorchester which has good rail links to Southampton, Bristol and London and highly rated schools.
