We are seeking a reliable and skilled Apprentice Business Administrator to join our team based in Farlington. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of GBP17,500 per annum plus benefits.

Mountjoy Ltd is contracted to Vectis Housing Association to provide the inspection, testing and repairs & maintenance of over 600 domestic gas appliances across the Isle of Wight. We are seeking a conscientious, compliant and experienced Gas Safe Plumber with a can-do attitude and flexible approach to complement our growing team.

The nature of the Apprentice Business Administrator role means that for the first 9 months you will provide a professional and efficient administration service to the HR team, supporting the HR department whilst overseeing the reception phone and area. Thereafter you will rotate around the business proving Administrative support to different departments across the business and working on different projects.

Key responsibilities of the Apprentice Business Administrator include:

- Managing the reception area and look after visitors

- Handling customer phone calls and distributing/taking messages as appropriate

- Coordinating the collection and delivery of incoming and outgoing deliveries and maintaining a delivery log

- Opening all incoming mail and distributing it accordingly

- Ensuring outgoing mail is franked and in a timely manner

- Ensuring there is sufficient stationery and refreshments (tea, coffee, sugar, milk,) available by undertaking regular stock checks and replenishing where required

- Providing administrative support to the HR team including recruitment of front-line and office staff; from advertising through to arranging interviews and preparing new starter employment packs, inputting data on the HR database, right to work checks, archiving leavers and sending NEST pension letters

- Generating contracts of employment for new employees and producing any subsequent amendment to contracts where terms and conditions change

- Providing HR support as requested by the HR Business Partner and HR Advisor

- Supporting the Executive Board members with ad hoc tasks as required

The required skills and qualifications for the Apprentice Business Administrator role:

- Maths & English GCSE 9-4 (A*-C) or Functional Skills Level 2 (provide certificates)

- Previous exposure of working in a recruitment / Administrative role

- Experience of delivering excellent customer service both face to face and over the telephone

- Good working knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel and PowerPoint

- Strong attention to detail and prioritisation

- Ability to work without supervision

- Excellent time management skills

- Confidence and approachability

- Good telephone manner

- Ability to work autonomously

- Being a good communicator both verbally and in writing is mandatory for this role
