In these challenging times, universities need to maximise value for money and generate year-on-year savings in order to ensure they can continue provide cost-effective services and learning to their student body. The Procurement department at the University of Manchester is responsible for buying all of the university’s requirements for goods and services and has to balance achieving value for money with the quality requirements of stakeholders and the need for legally compliant and transparent procurement processes

Procurement is a rapidly developing career path and this higher apprenticeship gives the successful candidate the opportunity to develop to a professional procurement competency level, which will ensure they are qualified to fill suitable procurement or related posts within the University or similar organisations in other sectors. This is a training role which provides both work experience in a busy procurement office with studying for an accredited procurement qualification

Interviews will be held on either 23rd or 24th August 2018 at the University of Manchester
