We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

We deliver our services by working in partnership with eight local authorities and clinical commissioning groups, a wide range of voluntary organisations, as well as service users, their carers and the public. The services are spread over a wide geographical area of around 3,600 square miles, which includes coastal, rural and industrial areas.

We are a multi-award winning trust and are included within the Health Service Journal's Best 100 Places to Work. The trust take a positive and proactive approach to support staff in their personal development and has embedded the Talent Management approach within the Trust, with the vision of helping people to be as good as they can be, helping TEWV to do things better.

We look forward to welcoming applications from suitably experienced and motivated clinicians wishing to expand their skills and knowledge across our adult community mental health teams.

Applications are invited from registered health and care professions from the following backgrounds; nursing, AHP, social work, psychology or psychological therapists. Significant experience working within a Mental Health or Learning Disability service is essential.

You should have significant experience of working as a Senior Practitioner (Band 7 or above) with service users demonstrating complex psychological and physical health care needs. You will have strong clinical assessment and care planning skills and experience applying these in complex situations.

In order to practice in this role an essential requirement is the completion of the Advanced Clinical Practice qualification/Masters level award or equivalent.

We are willing to receive applications from clinicians who have not yet completed this qualification but would be able to undertake and complete this course within an agreed timescale. If these applicants are currently employed at Band 7 (AfC) then this would remain their banding until successful completion of this essential qualification.

We are looking for applicants who are passionate about working with service users with severe and enduring mental health problems in community settings. This role would be a key leadership role within the locality and the successful applicant would support the teams in the ongoing development and delivery of clinical strategy and service improvement.

The Trust is committed to providing support and supervision for continuing professional development. We provide excellent opportunities for peer support/supervision, CPD, teaching/training, and research and audit in line with strategic developments.
