We are one of the largest specialist mental health and learning disabilities trusts in the country, with an annual income of £320m and a workforce of some 6,700 staff operating from around 100 sites in Durham, Teesside, North Yorkshire and York and Selby. We provide a range inpatient and community services to 2m people living in County Durham, the Tees Valley, Scarborough, Whitby, Ryedale, Harrogate, Hambleton and Richmondshire. We also provide additional specialist services to other parts of Northern England.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 8A Associate Nurse Consultant to play a key clinical role in the service provision and delivery of children and young people's mental health services in North Durham.

The service is a multi-disciplinary service covering Derwentside and North Durham area and is staffed by a range of mental health professionals including nurses, psychologists and psychiatrists.

The post holder will be employed by Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Trust and be line managed by the team manager .

Within this clinical role you will be responsible for the delivery of non-pharmacological and pharmacological treatments and will be a non-medical prescriber with experience of prescribing in this scope of practice. You will lead on the support, development and supervision of other non-medical prescribers in CAMHS within the trust.

You will be masters level trained and show evidence of continued professional development.

You will be part of the delivery of the nursing agenda and the long term plan, to promote nurse development, retention and recruitment. You will be part of wider trust meetings that develop services and guidance and sit within the senior leadership team within North Durham CAMHS.

You will work closely with partner agencies and children and young people to provide a holistic compassionate approach to care and delivery in order to achieve high quality outcomes .

This 12-month, fixed term posts is available as full time or as a job share. This role is also available as internal secondment opportunity for clinicians currently working within Tees Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust . Internal applicants must ensure that prior to applying they have agreement from their current line manager that they can be released on a secondment basis.
