An exciting opportunity has arisen for a part-time, permanent post to provide clinical leadership for nutrition support at Scarborough Hospital.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, experienced and proactive band 7 Dietitian to lead on the clinical delivery of the dietetic service at Scarborough Hospital.

This is an excellent opportunity to expand your knowledge, skills and further develop your leadership experience.

You will join a friendly department of over 30 Dietitians across 2 sites, York and Scarborough. You will be primarily based at Scarborough Hospital but could be required to travel across to our York site. You will join a team of supportive band 7 Dietitians who work together to manage the day to day running of the Dietetic Services, including recruitment, service provision and leading on service development. You will also work closely with the Operational Manager and Professional Lead. You will lead a clinical team that can include registered Dietitians, Associate Practitioners and Dietetic Support Workers. Therefore excellent team working skills are essential, as well as the ability to work autonomously to assess and mange a caseload of patients.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate strong communication and leadership capabilities. You need to be resilient and able to manage and prioritise your case caseload whilst supporting the work and development of the team.

The wider Dietetic department provide clinical inpatient and outpatients services to a variety of specialties including Oncology, Renal, Paediatrics, Stroke, Neurology and Diabetes. The department has a well-established department facilitating the training of dietetic students. We are also involved in delivering a variety of rolling training programmes for other health care professionals across the Trust relating to nutritional care.

The successful candidate will be involved in these important aspects of learning and development and there are numerous opportunities for professional and personal development.

DBS Checks - All new employees starting work with us will be charged for the cost of their DBS check if it is required for the role. The cost will be deducted from your salary either in 1 payment or over a six month period once you start employment. The charges are currently £27.20 for a standard check and £44.20 for an enhanced check. The level of check will be determined by the post you are applying for.
