We are looking for that special leader who will enable our recently merged Technology Enhanced Learning (TEL) team to support the Directorate of Education, Research and Innovation (DERI) deliver its strategy through immersive technology, simulation and digital learning whilst ensuring our
Learning Management Systems are fully developed, maintained and fit for purpose.
We expect you have delivered TEL projects and have proven leadership skills. As a highly creative and innovative leader you will integrate the latest developments in technology into education and learning activity.

Working closely with the Trusts Simulation Lead, Information Technology and Governance partners, DERI Managers and Educators, provide a range of options and solutions. You will lead on a range of TEL projects/outcomes, managing the Learning Management System, Digital Development solutions and Information, Communication and Technology skills training and DERI assets.

This will support the development and implementation of simulation, virtual reality education and training and digital learning resources. Leading and managing the TEL team, you will be solution focused at all times with a clear vision to succeed, be able to work to key deadlines and manage service demands. However you will continue to be creative and innovative whilst putting patients, staff and quality improvement at the heart of all activity.

The post is fixed term for 12 months and where possible the successful candidate will work full time (37.5 hours) flexible and agile across our centres with home working opportunities. If full time hours are not possible for the right candidate, we are open to discussion on a range of part time/shared and flexible options. You will have evidence of continuing professional development and significant experience of leadership within Technologies, Education or Healthcare. As a minimum be educated to degree level in Education, Technology Enhanced Learning, Computer or Information Science (or equivalent level of experience).

In addition you will possess a Teaching qualification at Certificate in Education level (or equivalent experience) e.g. PGCE.
It is essential you also have a Project Management PRINCE 2 qualification or substantial experience of delivering TEL projects. A Leadership, coaching and mentoring qualification is desirable.

The salary advertised is for 37.5 hours pw. Salaries will be pro-rata if the hours are less than this. For posts on AfC payscales, new entrants to the NHS will normally commence on the first pay point.

Disclosure and Barring Scheme (DBS)

In line with other NHS trusts, the DBS check charge is paid by the successful candidate who has been offered the post. Candidates can choose to pay this over 1-3 months as a salary deduction. The cost of an Enhanced Disclosure will be £44.00 and for a Standard Disclosure £27.00 which includes a small handling fee.
