A Position has arisen for an enthusiastic individual to assist with sample preparation and information analysis in accordance with the laboratory duties within the Microbiology. Experience of working within a laboratory setting and the NHS would be desirable.

The post holder will be expected to have good IT skills, telephone manner, a flexible approach to working, good manual skills and work with automated equipment to help assist Biomedical Scientists in their routine work.

As an apprentice you will receive all the training you need to be able to carry out this role fully and competently and you will undertake the Healthcare Support Worker Level 2 apprenticeship standard. You will be released for study once a fortnight and supported to achieve this qualification. You will receive 27 days annual leave and be entitled to a range of discounts on services and products from a number of retailers and organisations in the local area.

The minimum entry requirements are 2 GCSEs *A - C or level 2 in English and maths (or equivalent).

Applications cannot be accepted if you have:

Previously completed a Health & Social Care qualification or apprenticeship (in the same field) at level 2 or level 3, you are not eligible for further or similar apprenticeships.

It is expected that the post holder will participate in 24/ 7 working after a suitable period of training.
