University Hospitals of Leicester have fantastic opportunities for ambitious individuals to join one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country. Serving the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland, we have opportunities to work with experienced staff and develop your future career.

Our Commitment to you is to help you gain a qualification in Business Administration within a 16 month contract. Hours of work will be 37.5 hours per week with a salary of £165 p/w.

As part of the apprentice scheme you will have study days which will be discussed at the recruitment day.

We are seeking 3 highly motivated, hard-working, forward thinking individuals who are interested in learning about purchasing goods and services for our Hospitals whilst gaining valuable business administration skills. If this is you then keep reading on, as the procurement category teams are looking to recruit 3 people to join them.

Procurement involves the buying of goods and services that enable our hospitals to function and operate. The procurement process ensures we buy the right products, at the right price in a timely and compliant way whilst achieving the best possible value.

In these roles you will provide a variety of administration and clerical tasks to support category leads in 1 of the 3 procurement teams and will gain knowledge and experience of using the different types of systems and processes and procedures that support the purchasing of products and services.

To qualify for the apprenticeship role the minimum criteria is:-
  • that you must have GCSE 9 - 4 in English and Maths as a minimum
  • have not completed an apprentice programme in the past
  • you do not need have a degree/higher qualification
