Apprentice Service and Maintenance Engineer

We have exciting opportunities for enthusiastic people to join our Facilities Services team in Manchester where you can learn from the industry's best, maintaining prestigious office buildings across the capital.

As an apprentice based on site you will:

• Train at one of the top performing colleges or training providers
• Learn about and implement our award winning approach to working safely
• Working indoors and outdoors and at height
• Be prepared for early starts
• Develop great working relationships with some of the industry's most talented people
• Have a strong support network giving you the chance to build your confidence and use your initiative

You will learn to:

• Follow a schedule to test and maintain all heating, ventilation and water systems correcting any faults you may find
• Read and understand engineering drawings
• Use the Building Management System to control and monitor the electrical, heating and ventilation systems
• Use small hand tools such as hammers, saws, screwdrivers etc.
• Implement essential safety procedures before working on systems
• Work with other trades and gain experience from their knowledge
• Develop strong customer service and client relationship building skills

You will attend college to complete the Building Services Engineer Service and Maintenance Advanced Apprenticeship. In addition, you will regularly attend in house training and development as part of the programme.

To apply, you need: You must have Grade C/4 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English Language, Maths and a science-based subject, plus 2 other subjects at grade C/4 or above. or if you are currently still at school you must be predicted to achieve these grades.

What happens next?

If we like what we see on your application, you will be invited to undertake a telephone interview. If we want to progress your application after the telephone you will be invited to attend an assessment centre after which we will shortlist for final interviews. Interviews and assessment centres will take place during June 2021.

If you are offered this apprentice role, this will be on condition of providing a colour vision test certificate from an optician confirming full colour vision.
