The successful candidate will be assisting the GRC team at OmniCyber Security in all relevant activities to uphold the ISMS. This can include building laptops ready for new staff; completing vulnerability assessments/report; studying for industry related qualifications and basic QA of consulting reports.

Desired skills

  • Basic IT literacy is required - to aid building laptops to a build sheet we use
  • Problem solving - Often new challenges come through and critical thinking and problem solving are the best solutions
  • Patience - If you have ever worked 1st line support, you'll understand this requirement
  • Commitment - We are a business looking to grow and employ new staff. If commitment is shown, we can consider a longer-term employment for the successful candidate
  • Driving License preferred (Not Required) - This is to ensure we're best prepared to get back into the working world post pandemic/restrictions. Often, we must drive to client sites to conduct audits

Personal qualities

  • Governance Risk and Compliance requires interpersonal skills so that you may be able to work effectively when communicating with the team and potentially clients
  • We are looking for a candidate that is outgoing, and able to work both independently and within a team

Desired qualifications

You must have a minimum of a GCSE (or equivalent) in English and maths at Grade C/4 or above and arelevant Level 3 qualifcation or equivalent.

Future prospects

OmniCyber Security is currently in it's growth period, we've opened up offices abroad and are also looking to expand the UK team. Our last apprentice is currently finishing off his course and we are looking to take him on full time based on his performance over the last two years. It's a fantastic learning pathway into the industry and we hope others will follow his example.

Things to consider

Apprenticeship National Minimum Wage (ANMW): The National Minimum Wage for Apprentices is £4.30per hour. This is the legal minimum pay per hour applying to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged 19 and over in the first year of their apprenticeship. For apprentices 19 or over who have completed their first year and are continuing their apprenticeship, the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies.
