Assist and support the management of site operations, to ensure safety, quality, cost effectiveness, timely production and customer satisfaction.
  • Learn the aspects of planning and sequencing of operations, including writing method statements and risk assessments, and procuring sub-contractor, labour, plant and material resources
  • Implement operational quality control measures and QA processes
  • Develop work plans, method statements and risk assessments
  • Monitor the progress of project works
  • Take a proactive approach in the responsibility for Health and Safety ensuring all required documentation is in place
  • Ensure full communication across all management levels within the project
  • Ensure that all operatives are provided with the necessary resources, materials and information for the carrying out of their duties and for ensuring that safe working practices are followed
  • Alongside this you will be studying towards a BEng (Hons) Civil Engineering
  • Complete quality inspections to ensure work is completed to a safe standard
  • Conduct self in a way that reflect and promotes the Van Elle company values
  • Understand and act in accordance with Van Elle's policies and procedures
  • Any other tasks that you may reasonably be required to undertake

This vacancy requires flexibility to travel in the UK, and hold a full clean UK driving licence Travel requirements: the role will be allocated to a specific office base, and there may be a need for flexibility to work on an ad hoc basis at other locations or from home. There may be long days, sometimes in all weather conditions.

Desired qualifications

Academic entry criteria for the Civil Engineering Degree Apprenticeship:
  • Three A-levels at Grades A*-C/9-4, including mathematics and Physical Science or equivalent; or
  • A successfully completed Level 3 Apprenticeship as a Civil Engineering Technician; and
  • GCSEs -English and maths grade C/4)
  • IT competent in Microsoft packages
