Start Date
Duties to include:
  • How to comply with statutory requirements and stringent organisational safety requirements
  • Producing components using hand fitting techniques
  • Producing Electrical or Electronic Drawings using a Computer Aided Design (CAD) system
  • Wiring and testing electrical equipment, assembling and testing electronic circuits
  • Using computer software packages to assist with engineering activities
  • Producing engineering project plans
  • Maintaining and improving electrical equipment and systems

  • As with all roles in a large organisation we need excellent communicators who enjoy working in a team
  • You will study the uses of electricity and the equipment for power generation and distribution, and the control of machines and communication systems
  • You must be a quick learner, practically minded and versatile

Desired qualifications

Typically: 112 UCAS points

This must include at least 64 points from two A levels or equivalent BTEC National qualifications to include mathematics or a mathematics-based subject to at least AS level. For example:
  • BBC at A Level including mathematics or a mathematics-based subject plus at least one other from physics, physical science, engineering science, computer science, technology, chemistry or other science or technology subject
  • DMM in BTEC Extended Diploma in a science or technology-based subject (including passes in mathematics and two other science or technology-based modules)
  • A combination of qualifications which must include mathematics or a mathematics-based subject and may include AS levels, EPQ and general studies

GCSE or equivalents:
  • English Language at grade C or 4
  • Maths at grade C or 4
