** 20 month Fixed Term Contract - Apprenticeship **

We welcome applications from individuals wishing to become an Apprentice and gain experience in the NHS. You will develop new skills and knowledge whilst working with an established team gaining valuable work experience and a recognised apprenticeship qualification.

You will be enrolled with a local education provider and will be required to complete your Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Programme within the duration of the placement.

The radiotherapy department is situated at the Norfolk and Norwich and is part of the oncology service. We are a busy department with in excess of 40,000 appointments to book each year for cancer patients. The successful candidate will perform a number of administration tasks to support patients with their radiotherapy appointments; this includes booking transport and answering telephone enquiries.

The department is paperless, so the candidate will need good IT skills and will be expected to learn several department specific applications.

Norwich is served by two large shopping centres, with all the national chains you would expect, alongside independent retailers in the historic streets and vibrant market. The city also has more than its fair share of restaurants, pubs, theatres and clubs to keep you occupied outside work.

Surrounding Norwich there are a number of picturesque small towns and villages for those who prefer a quieter life. We also have good rail links to London and Cambridge.

We are looking for forward thinking Apprentice who is a team player and who wants to play a role in keeping our service at the forefront of modern radiotherapy.

To fit in with the team applicants should be enthusiastic and highly motivated with excellent communication skills.

Eligibility Criteria:

All applicants must be:
  • Aged 16+
  • Resident in the UK/EEA for the last three years
  • Must not have a Degree, Level 4 qualification or above
  • Must NOT be in any form of formal government-funded education

Qualifications and Skills Required:
  • Good general standard of education
  • 4 GCSEs at A-C (9-4) ideally to include Maths and English
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good IT skills
