A Payroll Team Leader is currently being recruited for a fast paced, high volume payroll function.

You will be the Payroll Team Lead responsible for running a designated busy multi pay frequency NHS payroll for both in house and client payrolls from start to finish. You will be leading a payroll team consisting of qualified and experienced payroll staff as well as payroll apprentices. Responsibilities include taking charge of making and implementing improvements to the payroll function. You will be required to provide advice and guidance on payroll best practice, policy, processes, legislation and operating procedures.

You will be required to lead and motivate the team to ensure that all deadlines are met within agreed timescales and SLAs. You will ensure that all statutory deductions are completed on time and all third party payments are made accurately in line with legislation and regulations; the Payroll Team Leader will perform all payroll reconciliations.

You will need to be an experienced payroll professional, with experience processing start to finish payroll within the NHS.

The position will suit someone with excellent team leadership skills combined with demonstrable in-house payroll experience processing large, complex payrolls within a multi-site environment.

Candidates must demonstrate up to date payroll legislation knowledge and have managed staff previously. Candidates must also have experience with ESR.
