You will be enrolled onto and supported to achieve a Level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships offer a great opportunity to earn while you learn, by working towards a recognised qualification whilst giving you invaluable experience in the working environment.

Why this role matters

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Apprentice Administrator to join our Talent for Care Team, working on either the Talent for Care central functions, Apprenticeship, Volunteering or Widening Participation workstream.

Talent for Care aims to help people Get Ready, Get In, Get On and Go Further in their careers in the NHS. From raising awareness of careers in health for young people and those wishing to join the NHS workforce, to supporting individuals to develop in their long-term career including with relevant qualifications, Talent for Care provides a framework for staff at all levels while also retaining a particular emphasis on improving opportunities for the support workforce.

With a focus on diversity, inclusion and widening participation from disadvantaged or underrepresented groups, Talent for Care supports employers with their workforce supply through programmes such as schools engagement, volunteering, work experience, pre-employment activity, apprenticeships and access to higher education and the registered professions.

What will you do

You will support the administrative functions and duties across the key workstreams. You will work within a national team and support the delivery of our strategy and our annual business plan by providing good administrative support to managers across the team.

This role will support the team with complex diary management, travel and accommodation arrangements, meeting coordination, taking minutes and the development of presentations, slides, and webpages, alongside other general administration duties including database management, such as contact lists and good file management. There may also be the opportunity to be involved with national conferences and events both online and in person.

  • We are looking for someone who can coordinate and keep on top of multiple tasks
  • Who is able to build good relationships with people through writing emails, telephone and face to face conversations.
  • Someone who can keep on top of a to do list and learn to prioritise
  • Has the motivation to learn new skills and study for their apprenticeship.
  • Works to the values of the NHS Constitution
  • Is aware of the impact of their own behaviour on the team and to maintain professionalism.

Experience that you would be expected to have
  • Experience of using Microsoft Office applications, including: Outlook, Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, and Microsoft Teams
  • Experience of working as part of a team, preferably previous administration experience but not essential if other skills can be demonstrated.

Successful candidates will therefore need to be able to travel independently and carry a laptop to facilitate flexible working.

All salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.

For posts based in Inner London, salaries will include the additional supplement of 20% of basic salary, subject to a minimum payment of £4,400 per annum and a maximum payment of £6,777 per annum. This is offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and is based on office location.

Due to Covid-19 this role will operate on a working from home basis until it is safe to work from a local HEE office, all equipment required will be provided. This is a national role and can be based from any HEE regional office.
