  • Identify risk of activities and encourage all employees to demonstrate safety-conscious behaviours
  • Assess, identify and record the environmental impact of projects
  • Assist in the implementation of the most appropriate solutions for building services projects
  • Use effective management principles and be able to supervise building services workers, ensuring adherence to contractual conditions
  • Understand overall plan for project and measure and record progress against plan
  • Assess and report on quality standards and assist in commissioning of finished building services projects
  • Attend regular site meetings withthe project teams as necessary
  • Be proficient in the compiling of Microsoft project and Asta programmes
  • Show your passion for your role and providesupport toall managers involved in your projects, ensuring you are available to assist with any problem solving that maybe required at site level
  • Support the efficient running ofprojects and that they are progressing in line with programmes at all times, ensuring you show drive and enthusiasm at all times
  • Ensure clear communication to team members, being available to attend site or on a mobile phone at all times
  • Support themonthly status reports to senior management, looking ahead for any critical/risk items that may impact projects and client relationships
  • Be available to attend pre/post-tender interviews, as and when required, ensuring any required documentation from the Operations team is dealt with in a time to meet deadlines
  • Support managers to ensure commissioning activities are managed correctly across projects at all times
  • Support managers to ensure projects hand over on time and in line with company expectation
  • General Requirements

  • To ensure all equipment including Laptop, Mobile Phone provided to you are kept secure and in good order. Ensure equipment is up to date and calibrated

  • Undertake any necessary training to ensure efficient completion of your job
  • Be able to work within own level of competence and know when to seek advice from others
  • Work within Rules and Regulations of Professional Competence and Conduct for the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers
  • Understand the importance of equality and diversity and demonstrate these attributes so as to meet the requirements of fairness at work
  • Be able to contribute effectively to meetings and present information in a variety of ways including oral and written
  • Be able to work with others in a collaborative and non-confrontational way
  • Be able to identify areas for improvement and suggest innovative solutions

Requirements and prospects

  • A natural affinity with mathematics and science, ideally physics
  • An interest in Engineering

Desired qualifications

  • A - Level EEE or;
  • BTEC National Diploma MPP or;
  • Access to HE qualifications with 45 Passes supported by substantial relevant work experience or;
  • Equivalent level 3 qualifications worth 64 UCAS points supported by substantial relevant work experience
  • Level 3 qualifications must include maths or Physics
  • Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A*-C including maths and English or equivalent (reformed GCSEs grade 4 or above)

Future prospects

This Apprenticeship will include the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to achieve Technician status with the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers (EngTech LCIBSE).

The Technician Professional Review process for EngTech LCIBSE is included in the end-point assessment process for this Apprenticeship and will lead to the designatory letters EngTech LCIBSE and the status of Engineering Technician.

Progress to a Senior Project Manager role.
