Programme details
  • You will complete your programme on a voluntary basis to gain new skills and try to gain employment within the Organisation
  • We have placements across all areas of the hospital, in many different areas and specialisms
  • You will also attend 1-2 days of Employability, English and maths study
  • You will need to complete a progress review with your mentor and academic tutor at the mid and endpoint of your course
  • We will offer a guaranteed interview for a role at the end of the placement, preferably within the area or department you work in or another area similar to the role in which you are working

Duties may include:
  • Caring for patients
  • Ensuring rooms are clean and tidy
  • Assisting with any other duties as needed

Training to be provided
  • Level 1 City and Guilds Employability
  • Maths, English and Digital Skills

A traineeship is a course with work experience that gets you ready for work or an apprenticeship. Our traineeships last between 6weeks to 10 weeks on average.

You can apply if you are:
  • eligible to work in England.
  • unemployed and have little or no work experience.
  • aged 19 to 24 and qualified up to and including Level 3

You will get:
  • a work experience placement of at least 70 hours
  • help with English, maths, and essential digital skills (if you need it)

What this will lead to

93% of our trainees progress in to apprenticeships.

From this band 2 role, you can progress up to band 3 and then follow pathways in to nursing or other healthcare professions.
