As a Production Technician Apprentice you will join our Antigens Team in Sittingbourne who are responsible for the manufacture and purification of proteins with the production team and will work closely with our Production Scientists. We've partnered with Kent University to deliver a 3-year BSc (Hons) degree apprenticeship program in Applied BioScience and you'll receive tailored on the job training from day one combined with our responsibility to help you develop and progress. You'll be working in a blended environment and will complete one day of online study weekly.

Things to consider
Your duties might include:
- To become competent in Production Protein manufacture without supervision as required
- Completion of 10 practical modules and 13 equipment modules as per production training plan
- Ensuring batch record completion is up to date and accurate
- Preparation and use of columns during purification of proteins
- Supporting production team members where necessary
- Preparation of Buffers and reagents used within the production department
- Calibration of key laboratory equipment, including pH meters
- Operation of Key laboratory equipment, including centrifuges, incubators, rollers
- Compliance with BBI's quality system requirements
- Service, calibration and maintenance checks of laboratory equipment
- Completion of daily cleaning checks
- Responsible for maintaining individual training record
- Adherence to all SOPs, PSBRs, EOPs, SMPs and relevant documents

- You should possess a minimum of 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) - grades A* - C 9/4 including Science, maths and English
- For entry to the Technician Scientist (Level 5) apprenticeship you must have a total of 80 UCAS points including preferably a B in A-Level Biology or equivalent. Alternative experience and qualifications will be considered
