You will join a team of experienced Quantity Surveyors and will gain experience on some excitingconstruction projects. During your apprenticeship you will gain exposure to all stages of project delivery including:

Lots of computer based work where attention to details is required. Visits to construction sites may also be part of the role. Once qualified there may be opportunities to travel.
PRE-CONTRACT ACTIVITIES:
- Estimates and cost plans
- Risk management - Landlord/tenant negotiations
- Client and design team meetings
- Value engineering, optioneering, life cycle costing
TENDER PROCESS MANAGEMENT:
- Pre-qualification and contractor selection
- Contract documentation
- BOQ elements and sub-contract packages
- Pre-tender estimates
- tender analysis and reports on tenders
POST-CONTRACT ACTIVITIES:
- Cash flows and cost reporting
- Project monitoring and certificate recommendations
- Site, client and design team meetings
- Change management,
- Final accounts, capital allowances and reinstatement costs assessment
- Contractor negotiations
GENERAL:
- Ethics and rules of conduct
- NDA, confidentiality and anti-corruption policies
- Industry knowledge, including construction technology and trends
- Construction legislation and alternative dispute resolution
- Work systems and tools, including CostX and Microsoft Office

Desired qualifications
- For standard entry applicants, must have obtained 96 UCAS tariff points (2017 Tariff) or 230 UCAS tariff points (2016 Tariff) or have an equivalent level of attainment through recognised qualifications not included in the UCAS Tariff. Or,
- Have completed an Advanced Apprenticeship in Surveying or an Advanced Apprenticeship in Construction Technical through which a Construction and Built Environment Diploma with a minimum DD profile was obtained or through which a Construction and Built Environment Extended Diploma with a minimum MMM profile was obtained, or an equivalent qualification. Or,
- Have a current RICS Associate qualification (AssocRICS). And,
- Have GCSE Grade C or above in English and mathematics (Grade 4 for applicants holding newly reformed GCSEs in England) or an equivalent Level 2 qualification in English and mathematics as defined by the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) in England
