On a day-to-day basis, you will:
  • With the support of your project manager, plan and prioritise your workload
  • Contribute to solving technical problems with your team
  • Carry out engineering designs and assessments
  • Prepare design reports and drawings
  • Collaborate with Engineers across many disciplines
  • Be responsible for delivering your own work to a high standard
  • Attend site visits and client meetings as required

Desired qualifications

Apprenticeship candidates will typically have at least three A levels (or equivalent) at Grades A*-C including mathematics and Physical Science (Either Physics or Chemistry) or will have completed a BTEC National Diploma in a relevant field for the degree.

Candidates are also required to start the programme holding a Level 2 maths and English qualification (GSCE (or equivalent) grade A*- C / new tariff grade 4 or above), which is compulsory within the apprenticeship requirements.

Future prospects

You are hired in a specific position, and in parallel to your general tasks, you complete a five-year training programme geared towards achieving a Civil Engineering Degree. Throughout the programme, you will also have a buddy to support you.
