The Construction Management Apprentice will deliver a range of support duties under the direction of their supervisor. They will be involved in:
  • To maintain effective working relationships both within your own team and with wider stakeholders
  • To use appropriate methodologies, tools and best practice as directed by your supervisor
  • To understand and adhere to company policies, statutes and government legislation in their work area
  • To undertake duties to meet the needs of the service and work within established contractual agreements
  • To adhere to SHEQ monitoring, compliance and inspection procedures
  • To assist in project delivery within their work area and undertake tasks utilising agreed standards and procedures and work with periodic supervision including
  • Project Programming and Progression
  • Understand design / technical information and resolution where issues are found
  • Awareness and support to project Commercial team member
  • Attendance for project meetings and support project reporting
  • On Site coordination and control
  • Completion of project records such as Site Diaries and Progress Photos
  • Produce and manage project logistics arrangements
  • To be responsible for maintaining their own knowledge and skillsets across a wide range of applications as directed by their supervisor
  • To contribute to the evaluation of business processes and, using best practice, identify options for improving efficiency and effectiveness of operational including maintaining an awareness of associated project and wider business, risks and issues
  • To apply Quality Control mechanisms in your assigned work area, and seek guidance on their resolution as necessary
  • To prioritise and promptly diagnose project incidents and problems in accordance with agreed procedures, supported by specialist or supervisor direction
  • To escalate issues which cannot be resolved locally to supplier support services,track the progress of escalated issues and liaise with suppliers to enable resolutions
  • To meet all learning commitments of the apprenticeship as directed by your line manager, the Apprenticeships Manager or the learning/training provider. Assigned qualifications and an end point assessment must be completed. This can include presentations, portfolios, units of assessment and exams

As a Collins Construction Apprentice, you will fully commit to the 20% off-the-job training requirements of the post alongside your normal day-to-day job. The post holder will complete a course of study and/or all learning and development requirements of the role.

As a Collins Construction Apprentice, you will utilise the support on offer to maximise the benefits to your professional development.

You will have the opportunity to participate in a supportive environment to develop the behaviours, knowledge and professional skills required of the role and the team. You will commit to your professional development plan (based on the course curriculum), set out at the beginning of your Apprenticeship.

You will be expected to take ownership of the tasks & projects set out by your line manager. Apprentices understand the importance of managing both professional and learning responsibilities.

Desired qualifications

  • HNC in related subject with merit grade or;
  • Level 4 Apprenticeship in relevant subject or equivalent level 4 qualification
  • Applicants must hold 5 GCSEs A-C including mathsand English or equivalent


Future prospects

  • Potential to become Full-Time employed and progress into Site &eventually Project Management roles.


Things to consider

There will be full-time working on projects, flexibility to working hours will be required.
