An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Respiratory Specialist Nurse Team leader to work within the Pennine Lung service (integrated respiratory team) based at Royal Oldham hospital, but covering clinics and home visits across the Oldham Community.

The post will be split across clinical and managerial as you will be the Team leader in the service. We are looking for an experienced, motivated and well organised individual with highly developed skills within respiratory care,

You will be expected to lead on the development and innovative virtual wards for respiratory.

You will also need to be motivated to develop and enhance the current integrated service

You will need to be enthusiastic, motivated and an appropriately experienced practitioner in respiratory. You will need to have previous experience of assessing, and reviewing complex respiratory patients and then developing a plan of care.

You will be expected to lead the team in conjunction with the Physiotherapy team lead. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment, enthusiasm and drive to develop your own clinical, managerial and team working skills within the service.

You must be able to communicate effectively at all levels, work autonomously and be able to demonstrate effective teamwork. You will provide high quality care in an appropriate and timely manner which is responsive to patients need whilst adhering to recognised guidelines.

You will be supported through regular team meetings, 1-1 sessions, individual learning plans and objectives, ongoing education with access to a professional team of nurses, AHPs and consultants to provide mentorship and support.

In short we are looking for a committed individual with the following attributes:
  • Registered Nurse
  • Extensive previous experience in respiratory care at B6 or above.
  • Evidence of post registration training in respiratory care.
  • A desire to learn and develop clinical skills and knowledge across all aspects of respiratory disease.
  • Excellent standards of care and a positive attitude to managing change and developing services.
  • Ability to communicate and work collaboratively with patient's carers and other members of the multi-disciplinary team.

The post is full time but we would consider staff wishing to work less hours or consider a job share.
