About the apprenticeship

Duties

• Assist in providing smooth and efficient support to the Team
Organisational Development under the direction of the Development Manager
Institutional.
• Assist with all aspects of the learning and development process.
• Support training events: booking venues, coordinating representatives.
• Update employee records on HR data system.
• Support, review and develop e-learning.
• Co-ordinate and produce training materials for courses in a house.
• Provide workshops for groups and individuals to meet needs training.
• Develop and maintain HR training database.
• Book venues for courses if appropriate.
• Liaise with trainers and representatives for all bespoke requirements.
• Advertise and communicate the training offer to staff.
• Update the training page on the intranet.
• Send out pre course information for course details i representatives.
• Analyse feedback to the course and use the information to improve any training and development.
You will be expected to carry out required tasks on a daily basis and will
work you do is designed to ensure you meet the requirements evidence and the minimum standards for your qualification.

Learning and Development (L&D) professionals play a role essential in all organizations, contributing to and influencing performance, individual, team and the wider business.
During the apprenticeship you will develop the knowledge, skills and behaviour necessary to become a successful DDA practitioner.
You will learn the essential skills needed to manage a variety of day to day activities of identifying learning needs a sourcing solutions; to deliver and evaluate training.

Qualifications

The applicant must possess 5 GCSEs at A-C grade including IT or equivalent and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to speak Welsh is desirable.

Who can apply?

To be eligible to apply you:

  • will be at least 16 years of age at the time of making your application
  • will not be in full-time education (you can apply while still attending school/college/university but will have finished or intend to finish your studies by the time your apprenticeship starts)
  • will need to meet the Civil Service Nationality requirements to apply.

ALS eligibility

Please note that ALS our training providers have their own eligibility in order to provide the funding required to undertake an apprenticeship. You may not be eligible to apply if:

  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in ICT, Software, Web and Telecoms or a similar subject
  • you already hold a qualification at Level 3 or above in Business Administration, Customer Service or a similar subject

What are the benefits?  

How much will I be paid?

You will earn £19,240 a year while training. When you pass your apprenticeship you can apply for a permanent job at the Welsh Government. Within 2 years of starting your apprenticeship you could be earning £22,500. 

You will get 31 days holidays as well as 10 public and privilege days. We offer flexible working arrangements to help you get the right work/life balance. You will also be eligible for membership of the Civil Service Pension Scheme
