Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist - 16 hour per week
Having a base of Broughton House (LN5 0SL) you will support:
Both services provide a specialist residential service for adults with autism and who may present with behaviours that challenge. We provide a safe, comfortable and effective care environment for those in our care, promoting independence and community integration.
Job Role
As a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist, you will have a unique opportunity to lead on the delivery of an evidence-based SLT service to meet the needs of the complex client group. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, you will use expert skills to assess, advise and intervene with the aim of promoting functional communication systems and optimal independence. You will support the training others, promote good practice and maintain an inclusive communication environment. You will offer support and advice on a daily basis and support transitional needs where required. You will also be required to provide supervision to junior team members (SLTs and SLTA's), and support the team to embed positive communication approaches as part of a standard good practice pathway.

Candidate Profile
We are looking for a Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist with:
- HCPC registration
- Experience in the field of Learning Disabilities / Autism Spectrum Disorders
- Understanding of SLT process/interventions with an emphasis on person-centred care.
- Qualification in Dysphagia management desirable
- Evidence of being a strong team player
- Excelled communication and time management skills
- Enthusiasm, motivation and passion
