POST: Decontamination Technician

LOCATION: STERILISATION & DISINFECTION UNIT (SDU)

HOURS 15 Hours (14:00 ­- 22:00) Weekends

SALARY: Pay Band 2 - £18,005 Incremental Pro Rata

(With enhanced rates for unsocial hours where applicable)

Applications are invited for decontamination technician to work as members of a busy team in all aspects of reprocessing surgical equipment, medical devices and instruments including disinfection, sterilisation and delivery.

This is a crucial area of the hospitals work, supporting the Operating Theatres, Wards, Clinics and local health centres in caring for the needs of patients.

Applicants will have a sound basic education, be literate, numerate and have some practical mechanical ability or experience in production work. Full Initial Training will be given on the job during your fixed shift hours. Start and finish times will vary during training.

Successful candidates will undertake Healthcare science decontamination apprenticeship training diploma at levels 2, Uniforms are supplied.
