We are seeking a passionate, professional individual interested in developing leadership qualities at our Nursery. You will be prepared to be make a difference to the families we support and put them first. You will be keen to develop the business and be flexible towards the business needs.

  • Able to work on a multi-agency basis with professionals from a wide range of backgrounds
  • Actively support each child and family to achieve their potential
  • Inform and improve practice by acting on research and new developments & leading by example.

  • Challenge and support practitioners to ensure their practice is safe and to a high standard
  • Develop and lead an ethos that will enable practitioners to make a real difference to the lives of children

  • Maintain own practice and skills through effective CPD and maintain a culture of professional development for your staff

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Vocational experience of at least 2 years
  • Appropriate level 3 or 4 qualification in Early Years
  • Able to identify and manage risk
  • Able to set clear, measurable objectives
  • Able to use data to evaluate the effectiveness of outcomes
  • Develop and lead change in working practices that deliver improved outcomes

Desired qualifications

  • You will be willing to undertake the Children, Young People and Families Manager Standard Level 5
  • You must have the Early Years Educator Level 3 Qualification
  • You must have at least 2 years' experience as a room leader


Future prospects

Progression opportunities may include a permanent position with the Nursery.

Things to consider

From April 2021, the National Minimum Wage for Apprentices rose to £4.30 per hour. This applies to 16-18-year-old apprentices and those aged over 19 in the first year of their Apprenticeship. For all other apprentices the National Minimum wage appropriate to their age applies. The Minimum Wage for Apprentices applies to time spent on the job plus time spent training.
