The Client:

One of the country's largest main contracting businesses, there are few that can rival the delivery capabilities and progression opportunities found within our client's business.

Their projects typically range in scale and value from small refurbishments below the GBP1m mark through to major new build / conversion schemes totalling up with final values way past the GBP50m mark.

As part of their continued development of staff within the business, an incredibly rare opportunity for a Graduate Quantity Surveyor has been signed off to join a team of experienced, capable surveyors within one of their larger business units.

The Role:

Working underneath experienced Quantity Surveyors, you'll initially be tasked with assisting with the financial management of a range of schemes - being assigned to shadow a member of the team and help to deliver their projects within budget.

You'll receive industry-leading one-to-one tuition on the job, developing your skills as a QS to be able to effectively price, negotiate and cost-engineer projects to a high quality, but profitable, finish.


- Assist with detailed breakdown of build costs for each stage of work.

- Compile sub-contract orders and oversee their subsequent issuing to contractors

- Assist with cost and value reconciliation, financial reports and final accounts.

- Oversee spend on in-house and sub-contract labour, and material procurement.

- Various other administrative duties

Qualifications & Experience:

- Degree in Quantity Surveying or an equivalent qualification, which must be complete.

- Previous experience working in a main contracting environment is desirable but not essential - you will primarily be assessed on how you present yourself.

- You'll ideally be situated locally to Suffolk, applicants across the county are welcomed.
