Business Reporting:
  • Ensure the integrity of data provided for stakeholders agreed KPIs and review on a regular basis to ensure that it meets business needs
  • Produce periodic performance information that identifies and analyses performance against targets and identifies areas of performance exception/under-performance
  • Develop and maintain relationships with service managers to understand information performance requirements and identify areas to modify data collection as appropriate, along with effective methodology for obtaining it
  • Work with business improvement project managers to ensure effective benchmarking approaches which supports target setting and performance analysis. Attend benchmarking forums where appropriate
  • Develop and deliver timely, accurate and meaningful reports and information to meet business needs, making the best use of current technology, ensuring a high standard of presentation and availability for external appraisal
  • Produce regular and ad-hoc performance management and consultation reports as required
  • Support the development of a comprehensive reporting suite that enables intelligent analysis and supports decision making
  • Mine and analyse large data sets, draw valid inferences and present the data effectively
  • Confidently tell simple stories through data that lead to clear decision making from a wide range of stakeholders including the Executive team and Board
  • Utilise future-proofed reporting tools such as PowerBI to design and develop reports and visualisations for the business

Data Quality & Integrity:
  • To work towards the elimination of spreadsheets and other areas which hold core data outside of central information systems
  • Oversee the creation of a joined-up performance management framework which integrates risk, performance and projects
  • Work alongside stakeholders to implement, develop and maintain databases and information sources to support the performance management systems and inform improvements in business and service delivery
  • To ensure there is visibility of project success and continual improvement, Heads of Service/staff can visualise where and why their contribution counts to the groups vision and support moving to an ever improving culture of continuous improvement and high performance

To work with stakeholders to develop KPIs which drive the right behaviours, are reliable and trusted, agreed, understood and are timely and comparable with others/peers.

Change & Continuous Improvement:
  • Generate ideas for change activity and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes, service delivery and outcomes across the business
  • Drive positive change in process, technology and culture to shift the way data is perceived, handled, stored and used
  • Liaise with the Programme and Improvement Office/ Group IT to improve data collection processes, and where possible automate the collection of performance data

Analyse existing reporting solutions in comparison to alternatives in the marketplace, assessing them for both technical and business suitability and where appropriate develop proposals/options for change, including financial implications.

Stakeholder Engagement
  • Support Head of Service in delivering performance reporting to service areas
  • Help non-data-oriented colleagues understand how and where analysis can help support their objectives and support them in the use of reporting tools and outputs

  • Represent the Customer Voice team at a strategic level on company projects that require support to enable their delivery, providing a positive contribution to their development, including the assessment of cost, risk and reward
  • Plan and manage own workload in line with the priorities of the Customer Voice team and make a positive contribution to the planning and prioritisation of incoming or new work impacting on the team

  • Attend meetings and training as agreed and required
  • Assist your Manager to identify your training requirements as part of your ongoing supervision and professional development
  • To ensure that maximum use is made of information technology systems within the department
  • Ensure compliance with requirements under the prevailing Data Protection legislation and follow the Group's Data Protection Policy and procedures relating to confidentiality
  • Take responsibility for the health and safety of oneself and others in the workplace working in accordance with the Group's Health & Safety Policy
  • To ensure that the Group's Single Equalities Scheme is fully implemented at all times
  • To ensure that the values of the organisation are displayed throughout all work activities
  • To carry out any other duties appropriate to this post, as necessary or as requested

In order to maintain a safe working environment, keep yourself and others safe, maintain a positive safety culture and help your Supervisor / Line Manager and/or Trade Union Representative / Safety Representative achieve our Health & Safety aims and objectives you will be conversant with the Current Health And Safety Policy on the Intranet in particular the Statement of Intent and section 5.6 and 5.7 of the Policy "Health & Safety Responsibilities".

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Proven experience in an analytical/insight role, with solid experience in data quality, cleansing activity, analysis and reporting
  • Data analysis skills using tools including excel and business intelligence visualisation tools
  • Experience of providing actionable insight and business intelligence
  • Methodical, logical thinker with excellent problem-solving skills

Personal qualities

  • Ability to plan, prioritise and execute own workload either as part of a team or as project lead in relation to the deployment of new and changed systems
  • Ability to produce complex reports using a range of technical tools and to support users in self-sufficient use of reports
  • Ability to produce accurate information, with attention to detail
  • Knowledge and understanding of housing sector processes, such as rents, voids and lettings, repairs and maintenance and customer insight

Desired qualifications

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths).
