University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust is delighted to offer the Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship (RNDA) in conjunction with Coventry University and Health Education England.

This will be a fantastic opportunity for school and college leavers who are new to health care, are passionate about the healthcare of older people and are looking for a career within this exciting and diverse specialty. Applicants are required to illustrate their commitment to healthcare for older people within the supporting information section of their application

Successful candidates will be supported to undertake the 39 month Registered Nursing Degree Apprenticeship on a full time basis and will be employed by one of our Healthcare for Older People specialist wards who will provide the apprentices with support and placement opportunities throughout the apprenticeship.

Essential qualifications are as follows:

Essential Qualifications/ Certificates at Level 2 - 5 GCSEs graded 9-4/A*-C including English Language, Mathematics and a Science or specified equivalents.

A-level -B, C, C academic subjects only (excludes general studies) OR B-TechD, M, M in a Health or Applied Science subject, will accept sport course

Please note that certificate evidence will be required on notification of shortlisting and prior to interview (statements of results will not be accepted). Candidates will not be interviewed without submission and verification of these qualification certificates.

All posts involving access to persons in receipt of health services will be subject to a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check.

Having a criminal record will not necessarily bar you from working with us; this will depend on the nature of the position and the circumstances of your offences.

Staff recruited from outside of the NHS will usually be appointed at the bottom of the pay band.

Successful candidates will be automatically enrolled onto the Trust staff bank UHB+.
