The Data Science Graduate Scheme is designed to give you the opportunity to apply cutting-edge data science techniques to solve real-world business challenges and deliver commercial value.

Our teams are passionate about data, modelling and innovation and this scheme will give you the opportunity to work alongside talented analytical experts and senior leaders. They will support, guide and push you beyond your comfort zone to help forge your career in this highly competitive skill set and industry.

The Scheme

During the two-year programme, you will develop key knowledge and skills in:

Machine learning
Coding in Python & R
Communicating analytical solutions to business leaders
Pricing and Underwriting of UK personal lines insuranceDevelopment in this role is designed to be hands on, requiring you to master the key fundamental knowledge, skills and behaviours so that at the end of the 2 years you are on your way to being a fully competent data scientist.

Our scheme is perfect for those who are passionate about data, have a hunger to learn and develop and drive to refine their range of analytical skills. A data scientist or actuarial analyst will be your mentor and will be your go-to whilst you are learning on the job.

You'll have regular interactions with senior leaders and have the opportunity to do a range of learning and development across the two years which will develop your technical and soft skills.

Opportunity for further development including gaining a Masters degree qualification through our apprenticeship programmes dependent on performance in role.

Upon successfully completing the programme, you will be considered for a fully-fledged data science role.

Education and skills required;

Relevant university degree BSc/MSc in Statistics / Computer Science / Physics / Operational Research / Engineering/ Maths or other quantitative field minimum 2:1 or predicted.
A in A-level Maths or equivalent
Strong quantitative and analytical skills.
A passion for working with numerical/statistical data.
Ability to contribute to the conversation and comfortable with a variety of stakeholders.
Critical thinking and curiosity Able to challenge the norm, consider a range of views and see the big picture
Future leadership skills- ability to set vision and bring people alongDesirable

Experience working with analytical, statistical and data manipulation packages (e.g SQL, R, Python etc.)Benefits for you
