Technical sales:
  • Work in all departments and sites to gain experience and knowledge of the business
  • Produce take offs from drawings
  • Produce technical calculations
  • Records technical information
  • Follow sales leads
  • Answer telephone queries
  • Create a network of useful contact both within and outside the organisation

Maintain effective communication with your Line Manager:
  • Liaise with Line Manager on a regular basis raising any key issues and major developments promptly

  • Produce daily, weekly, and monthly reports
  • Ensure reports are accurate and meet deadlines at all times.
  • Ensure data is presented in a professional reporting manner.

HR and Health & Safety responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Identify training needs
  • Ensure accidents are investigated and reported in line with Company policy and corrective actions are implemented
  • Liaise and cooperate with the Group HR and H&S Manager as and when required

  • Ensure compliance with rules and procedures
  • Follow standard operating procedures
  • Be a continuous improvement champion
  • Agree business/personal objectives, KPI's etc with your Line Manager
  • Ensure personal appearance is professional whilst suitable for working environment and situation at all times

  • Ensure energy, determination, and work rate of oneself is at its upmost at all times
  • Recognise the need to develop oneself; identify any personal training needs and participate in relevant management training that the Company delivers
  • Ensure wellbeing of oneself
  • Promote a healthy work life balance
  • Ensure steadiness under pressure

Business Development and Continuous Improvement:
  • Look for opportunities to develop the business
  • Recommend changes to develop/improve production processes, quality, and products
  • Liaise and cooperate with the Group Continuous Improvement Manager as and when required

Work within the Company's Quality Standards:
  • Monitor and maintain standards of quality and compliance at all times
  • Conduct robust product testing programmes as per the Company's schedule
  • Investigate any issues and recommend actions to prevent any re-occurrence
  • Take corrective action if appropriate
  • Liaise and co-operate with the Group Quality Manager as and when required

Information technology:
  • Play an active role in developing the use of Information Technology
  • Ensure knowledge for self and team of Microsoft Office packages including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Email, and Internet

Ad-hoc duties:
  • Any other duties, as demanded by the job role and as requested by your line manager as and when required

Desired qualifications

The entry requirement for the Degree Apprenticeship are:
  • 112 UCAS points, e.g. grades BBC at A-Level or DMM at BTEC (or equivalent)
  • GCSEs at grades C/4 or above(or equivalent) in maths and English
