Required to undertake the following responsibilities as part of their day to day activities:
  • Robust testing of systems prior to implementation in accordance with testing and acceptance methodologies as may be required
  • To produce technical procedures and documentation for the applications including user guides
  • To develop and maintain test scripts in accordance with testing and acceptance methodologies
  • To investigate and reproduce bugs, issues and problems that may be identified and manage the corrections of these through to resolution
  • To undertake other testing or technology related tasks as may be reasonably required
  • Test and ensure the quality and resilience of all software delivered by the Development Team using structured processes and methodologies
  • To test work as it is being developed by the team, and also validate new versions of the software from both an end user perspective, and from a performance perspective for deployment within our hosted environments

General Responsibilities

In addition to the key role responsibilities outlined above, all staff are required to undertake the following responsibilities in adherence with company policies:
  • Working towards identifying and creating test cases using Gherkin
  • Learning how to raise and track issues in Jira that are preventing release
  • Shadowing Tester lead in sprint planning meetings, sprint reviews, sprint retrospectives and daily scrums
  • Document and maintain standards of testing
  • Part of a team that is responsible for overseeing all testing and documentation is conducted in with ISO 9001, 22301 & 27001
  • Working with Tester lead to ensure all testing has been completed, before the release of a new program or new version
  • Support Clients in their collaboration in our UKFastDesk environment
  • Functional and non-functional manual testing
  • Supporting test efforts across multiple products
  • Working closely with software developers and product teams learning how to write bug reports
  • Providing objective feedback to software development project teams
  • Liaising with Customers as required and updating measurement and reporting spreadsheets as required
  • Automated testing where appropriate

Requirements and prospects

Desired skills

  • Willingness to learn Ranorex
  • Understanding of traditional software life cycle methodologies and preferably iterative (agile) development methodologies
  • Some understanding of test processes and methodologies
  • Ability to prioritise effectively based on project demands, risk and resource constraints
  • Willingness to learn how to use Gherkin to write clear test cases
  • Knowledge of C# and willingness to learn how to use WebAPI testing
  • Ability to provide excellent Customer Service externally and internally
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Desired qualifications

5 GCSEs grades A*-C/9-4 or equivalent (including English Language and maths).
