  • Coln Ward - Focus on transitioning to the community

  • Responsible for:

    The provision of Occupational Therapy service in a female Personality Disorder rehabilitation unit.

    Responsible to:Senior OT (Band 6) and Hospital Manager for line management.

    Hours:40 hours per week

    Location:155 Podsmead Road, Gloucestershire, GL1 5UA

    Overview of site/Ward:

    Cygnet Alders Clinic is a 20 bed rehabilitation service providing assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for women with personality disorder and complex needs. Cygnet Alders Clinic is on the Welsh Hospital Framework with specialist service status.

    At Cygnet Alders Clinic we provide a specialist psychologically informed personality disorder pathway across three living areas;Severn, for assessment and stabilisation;Avon, where residents move as they engage and progress with their treatment pathway; andColn, which focuses on transitioning to the community

    We have a substantive multi-disciplinary team (MDT) comprising of a hospital manager, head of care, psychiatry, psychology, occupational therapy, nursing and support workers. We work closely with the local community, including dieticians and primary care.

    As an Occupational Therapist, you will provide direct clinical care which will encompass OT assessments, treatment and management of individuals / interventions and support for individuals within the service. In this role you will assess, implement and develop an OT treatment programme according to individual's diagnosis and identified needs. This will be based upon findings from assessments including associated risks, in order to develop treatment plans accordingly within the multidisciplinary team.

  • The Successful Candidate should be/have:
    • A registered Occupational Therapist with the HCPC (Health Care Professions Council)
    • RCOT Membership
    • An understanding of Occupational Therapy process/interventions and can take a "hands on" approach
    • Excellent communication and time management skills
    • Passionate about student education

    Requirements
