Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust is pleased to offer the opportunity of an apprenticeship within our Occupational Health department based at offices in Poundbury, Dorchester.

You will undertake a level 3 apprenticeship in Business and Administration.

The Occupational Health department is responsible for delivering Occupational Health support to the Trust and other companies.

The role has been designed to allow you to develop and experience a broad and varied range of activities including:
  • Providing efficient and effective reception service to clients and others who access the service
  • Co-ordinating diaries for nurses
  • Working with the whole Occupational Health Department
  • Providing efficient and effective secretarial and administration service to the Occupational Health Team

You will be a valued member of our busy and friendly administration team and assist in the effective and smooth running of our Occupational Health department, maintaining excellent working relationships through effective communication.

Apprenticeships are a fantastic pathway to start a career as well as obtain a nationally recognised qualification.

Entry Requirements

You will need to have a minimum of Mathematics GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) and English GCSE grade C/4 or above (or equivalent) and will need to demonstrate an interest in Business and Administration.

You are only eligible to apply for this post if you are living in England and are not taking part in full-time education at the start of the apprenticeship. You must be 16 or over and do not hold an equivalent or higher qualification in Business Administration already.

Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust will provide:

A dedicated mentor to support you through your apprenticeship, providing support and advice within the workplace, as well as helping you manage the balance of work and apprenticeship studies.

You will have the opportunity to develop personally and professionally and will be encouraged to attend our in-house training courses and shadow colleagues from other services. There may be further opportunities depending on your interests and strengths.

As an employee of Dorset HealthCare you will have access to our extensive e-learning platform to help support your growth and development in your new role. You will also be able to apply for vacancies at the Trust within the same staff group, allowing you the opportunity to join the Trust on a permanent basis.
