Hello, we are Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. We are an extraordinary place to undertake an award winning apprenticeship programme. We have helped many local people gain invaluable experience of working in the NHS today, along with achieving a nationally recognised qualification.

What is the role?

We are looking for a highly motivated, remarkable candidate to join our communications team.

Reporting to the Senior Projects & Events Coordinator, this role promises to be varied to say the least!

The successful applicant will be involved in the planning and execution of many events; including corporate events (such as clinical conferences), wellbeing events (such as staff support days), staff lottery events (such as annual balls and sporting competitions) and public engagement events (such as Expos). Duties will include arranging and attending planning meetings to keep a track of actions necessary to the event, through to setting up and attending each event to ensure the smooth running and success.

You will also work with the Senior Projects and Events Coordinator on health and wellbeing activities, as well as assisting with social media activity for all trust Facebook and Twitter accounts.

You will complete administrative tasks for the wider communications team, such as arranging meetings, diary management, office rotas and leave reporting.

Adding to this broad range of experience will be the provision of cover for the Freedom of Information team, helping to log, draft and respond to FOI requests.

This apprenticeship is initially fixed at 18 months and will include completion of the Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship standard. An End Point Assessment

Who are we looking for?

The post will be demanding but extremely rewarding; we are looking for a candidate who is ready for the challenge and shares our values of care, honesty, and accountability. You will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills (both written and spoken), as well as being organised and good at time keeping. Professional demeanour is also an essential requirement of this apprenticeship which will involve liaising with both colleagues and external organisations, as well as responding to queries from the public. Previous work experience in a customer service or administration setting is desirable as is an understanding of social media platforms and their impacts.

Eligibility and entry requirements

Applicants must have a minimum of 3 GCSEs at Grades A*-C (or equivalent level 2 qualifications) and be able to provide evidence of a Level 2 in Numeracy and Literacy (e.g Grade C - 5 or above in GCSE Maths and English). A qualification/experience in IT is also desirable.
