Job description:

A key element of our work is to develop policies that will support the Government's priorities. Our project delivery teams help ensure that any products or interventions relevant to these policies can be delivered effectively and on time. We have a number of roles across our department but regardless of your directorate and team, you'll have the opportunity to work with other project delivery professionals to develop your skills and experience. Some examples of the projects or programmes you could be supporting include:
  • Planning Reform
  • Rough Sleeping
  • Grenfell Site programme
  • Housing Delivery programmes
  • Smaller community projects including 'Changing Futures'

Some of the tasks you may be doing include:
  • Planning and scheduling
  • Setting up and providing support for stakeholder analysis and engagement
  • Supporting the implementation and running of risk management processes
  • Supporting governance including gathering information from stakeholders and reporting via internal reporting systems

Responsibilities -Apprenticeship:

As one of our project delivery apprentices, you will be enrolled onto an Associate Project Manager Level 4 Apprenticeship shortly after their start date. The apprenticeship takes approximately 18 months to complete and during this time you'll achieve the skills, knowledge and behaviours necessary to work effectively in a Project Delivery role. This is a Level 4 apprenticeship, which is approximately equivalent to a foundation level degree.

To manage your learning, 20% of your paid working hours will be dedicated to 'off the job' learning you apprenticeship for you to focus on your training and developing your skills. The apprenticeship training will be provided as a blend of online learning and virtual classroom tuition delivered by an Apprenticeship Training Provider. You will be given assignments throughout your apprenticeship and you will use examples from your job to provide evidence for them. You will have regular meetings with a Talent Coach from the apprenticeship training provider and with your Line Manager from your job to ensure you are on track and are supported.

The Project Delivery apprenticeship explore different organisational structures, responsibilities and stakeholders, and demonstrates the importance of project management planning and communication plans. This apprenticeship will cover the core skills in the project planning process from project definition to handover, as well as learning about budget management, cost control and how to support management objectives.
