The Opportunity

The Business Change department is responsible for the oversight and management of all major projects within the firm including:
  • Business and Operational re-engineering
  • Regulatory, Legal and Risk projects
  • Product Development
  • Business driven IT change and large scale change programmes of work

Each project is run against a business case and is sponsored at Director / MD level within the organisation. The department has a core team of project managers and business analysts and supports a business requirement to build efficiencies within our processes, and to professionally manage and deliver internal projects.

Summary of role

Acts as the primary interface between technology and a specific business/functional area for the development in a defined project. Advises internal and external business and technology groups by providing strategic direction to identify and address business issues and opportunities. Identifies business unit requirements, creates project and process specifications, coordinates with project teams, and ensures that projects are on schedule and on budget.

Analyses and defines the business requirements and functional or operational architecture for moderately complex projects. Formulates and defines system scope and objectives by thoroughly understanding business processes.

The responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Using documented processes, collects and defines requirements, translates into functional design documents and develops project scope, objectives, constraints and assumptions for a given project
  • Participates in development of the technical design, test plans, and user documentation
  • Gathers and analyses information and provides recommendations to address and resolve business issues for a specific business group
  • Applies experiences with existing software and/or systems development processes to develop better processes to be used in the future. Actively influences software and/or systems development process improvement initiatives
  • Provides advice to internal business groups and business analysts on process improvement projects by analyzing business process flows and identifying changes
  • Contributes to the achievement of team objectives

The candidate will be assigned to projects and will be required either to work alongside a Project Manager or to perform project management activities themselves.

  • Ability to communicate with the technical project teams and ensure requirements are correctly understood


Desired qualifications

Minimum 5 GCSEs or equivalents (A-C/7-4).
