Medical Laboratory Associate Practitioner

Band 4 - £21,892 - £24,157 per annum

Fulltime/secondment or fixed term for 6 months.

Applications are invited for a Medical Laboratory Assistant to join our team in the diagnostic microbiology laboratory of Torbay District General Hospital. The successful applicant will be based in the near patient testing Laboratory situated within the emergency department and carry out sample receipt, booking-in, processing and testing of specimens primarily for SARS CoV-2 with some reporting of automated and screening samples near patient testing lab

The microbiology department handles approx. 400K specimens per year, of which 150K are Covid PCR samples. as part of the role there is a requirement to partake in daytime, evening, and overnight, shifts 7 days a week Including bank holidays. These shifts will attract A4C pay enhancement.
