We are able to offer an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic Community Staff Nurses with a genuine interest in the health and wellbeing of children and their families to work within skill mixed Health Visiting community teams in Oxfordshire.

These are busy, high achieving; supportive, dynamic teams and they are looking for additional Community Staff Nurses to join the existing teams. Working corporately, the successful candidates will be flexible team players and role models who are able to demonstrate a willingness to support and implement change. To achieve this, you will be committed to working in partnership with other key agencies and supporting Health Visitors leading developments in local communities. We are looking for people with energy and enthusiasm, as well as a high level of professional skills, knowledge of the current health agenda and a drive to change. In return we offer excellent development opportunities leading to the move into a developmental role in preparation for the Specialist Community Public Health Nurse Course.

Access to own transport and the ability to travel is essential. You may be required to work across teams to help ensure service delivery. This post would be suitable for newly qualified Staff Nurses as well as more experienced.

This post is available 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week.

  • New starters have a 6 month probationary period. This, together with the induction process aims to create a positive supportive working environment allowing new employees to learn key elements of their role over a reasonable timescale.
  • Candidates not currently employed by the Trust who attend an interview for non-qualified Band 1-5 posts are required to undertake numeracy and literacy assessments.
  • Appointment to this post is subject to the trust receiving satisfactory references covering 3-5 years of employment or study. Please ask your referees to respond promptly to reference requests.
