About our Trust

University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is a newly formed organisation following a merger between Western Sussex Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (WSHFT) and Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals Trust (BSUH) on 1st April 2021. WSHFT and BSUH have been working in partnership with a shared leadership team for four years leading up to the recent merger. WSHFT became the first non-specialist acute hospital trust to be awarded Outstanding in all of the CQC's key inspection areas and BSUH became the fastest improving acute hospital trust in England and was rated Good overall and Outstanding for caring by the CQC. Moving forward together, the ambition is to continue improving and providing excellent care, every time, for patients.

The merger was a technical but important process for both WSHFT and BSUH which will ensure that the right leadership, structures, and governance are in place. Our journey has started but we have much still to learn as we work towards full merger, enabled by our Patient First ethos which shapes our values and gives structure to our improvement and performance management. An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within the administrative team in the Endoscopy Booking Office. We are looking for an enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated individual to work alongside the current booking team to assist in maintaining a high standard of care in a busy operational service environment.

This position will be ideal for a passionate team player dedicated to providing the highest level of service expected within this unit.

Working in collaboration with both administrative and clinical staff, the post holder will work towards achieving an accurate and detailed knowledge of the department. Duties include liaising with Nurses and Consultants, booking urgent and routine procedures in relation to the 18 week patient pathway; the ability to provide and receive information which may be complex, sensitive or contentious in nature; and the ability to engage in the day to day problems that arise within the unit.

The ideal candidate will work well within a team and be considerate and flexible to cater to the department's needs. The post holder will be self- motivated and focused to achieve the targets set within the unit.

The post is full time Monday to Friday, overtime is occasionally offered dependent on the needs of the service and also weekend working.
