Matron's Admin Assistant

Part-time 22.5 hours

Band 2 £18,005 - £19,337 pro rata

A vacancy has arisen for a Matron Administration Assistant on the Haematology/Oncology Unit - Pevensey Ward, to work as part of the haematology/oncology team. You will be joining an established team of nurses in cancer and haematology services and instrumental in the development of this service, you will also support, the Matron on the Pevensey Day Unit which provides treatments to Haematology and Oncology patients as day cases. The day unit has 20 chair/bed spaces caring predominately for patients receiving Haematology and Oncology treatments.

This Administration role also provides apprenticeship opportunities with development. For all applicants (working 18 hours per week or more) we can offer an apprenticeship programme to support them to undertake an NVQ in business Administration at NVQ Level 2 or Level 3. This programme will take 13 months to complete and must be commenced within 3 months of the start date for the post.

The successful applicant will be responsible for arranging meetings, taking notes, support in the use of Health-roster and the recruitment electronic system, in addition to booking mandatory training and providing full administrative service to the Matron.

We are looking for a well organised and motivated person, with a can do attitude and excellent interpersonal skills, to provide high quality administrative support. .

  • A good communicator and enjoy meeting people.
  • Posses a polite and caring manner
  • Have a good sense of humour
  • Able to prioritise own workload
  • Be you are computer literate and competent with the use of Microsoft Office.
