Apprentice Support Workers / Lifestyle Co-ordinators x 6
Location: Kendal, Cumbria, LA9 6SA
Salary: GBP4.62 per hour (Apprentice hourly rates from age 16 +)
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 35 hours per week (including 20% off the job training)
About Us:
After launching our Apprentice Academy in September 2020, two new Apprentices have joined Oaklea and we are looking for further six outstanding apprentices to join us in September 2021.
These are fantastic opportunities to earn as you learn, gaining valuable experience working in an established organisation which will provide you with a great start to your career in Social Care.
Support Workers / Lifestyle Co-ordinators - About the Role:
The Apprenticeship will last for two years, you will work 35 hours per week which will include one day per week at college, undertaking the theory work with your Social Care Tutor.
Over the two years you will gain first-hand experience working in various work locations and with customers with varying needs and learning and physical disabilities. The customers you work with will vary in age from children to older adults and you will work on a rotational basis changing work location every three months. You will have four rotations in year one and will repeat this in year two allowing you to apply your knowledge gained in year one to progress your skills, knowledge and experience in the beginning of your career in Adult Social Care. (The planned rotations are illustrated in the enclosed documents).
Your apprenticeship will include 20% of your contracted hours to be 'off the job' training. This will generally be attendance at College, however, this could also include attendance at meetings, attending training, coaching and mentoring. A personalised plan will be developed for each apprentice.

Following the apprenticeship, you will have a recognised qualification of Level 3 in Adult Social Care and will have the opportunity to join Oaklea as a permanent employee.
