What will the apprentice be doing?

This is a four-year Degree Apprenticeship scheme which offers on the job learning during placements in Project Management, Project Controls & Risk Management. Aligned to the new Project Manager Degree Trailblazer apprenticeship standard you will gain PM experience whilst also gaining a professional PM qualification.

You will be challenged on working to deadlines, communicating effectively and ensuring the team maintains its momentum to deliver to cost, time, quality and safety requirements.

What training will the apprentice take and what qualification will the apprentice get at the end?

You will undertake placements based on either the Sellafield site or one of our various satellite offices in West Cumbria. While the University of Cumbria is currently conducting all learning sessions remotely, in future Apprentices should be able to attend classroom sessions at the University.

This Apprenticeship will help you to achieve the Association for Project Management Project Management Qualification (PMQ) and a BSc Hons degree in Project Management.

What is the expected career progression after this apprenticeship?

This could be your springboard into a career in Project Management. Project Managers are the people who have the responsibility of delivering projects safely, on schedule and on budget. They lead an integrated project team of professionals in the design, construction, commissioning or decommissioning of some of the most challenging projects in the most challenging environments in industry.

Things to consider

Entry requirements: • Minimum age 18 • Minimum of 5 GCSEs Grade 4 (Grade C) in Mathematics, English Language & 1 Science or Engineering subject • Minimum of 96 UCAS Points, all A Level subjects considered. o Other Level 3 qualifications may be considered o Vocational equivalents at level 3 or higher will also be considered (e.g. HNC/HND etc)
